Speaking Engagements
Emotional wellness is becoming more of a priority in people’s lives. Integrating a therapist’s perspective into your event is a way to keep people engaged and invested in change.
Speaking engagements have been a great way to connect with groups seeking skills and reflection. I love helping others explore areas of growth and have worked with many different populations for over 10 years. My interactive approach allows clients to think critically about the topics at hand. See below for the many settings I work in:
Corporate Events
Are you organizing a staff wellness event? Or perhaps you realize workplace morale is lacking in the wake of changes. My experience as a director of a mental health clinic has given me the skills to work effectively as a leader in team settings. I exercise my diplomatic and advocacy skills to their fullest potential and love engaging in conflict resolution in workplace situations that don’t always seem so black and white. I’ve participated in many sprints where I used collaborative problem-solving skills and empathize with the experience of management on multiple levels.
Employees are what make the success of a company. Investing in your staff’s wellness and skill-building can provide an endless amount of return.
Topics often discussed in corporate settings include:
Time Management
Work/Life Balance
Managing Burnout
Improving Communication with others
Discrimination in the workplace
Processing loss
Wellness Retreats and social gatherings
Taking care of yourself is the foundation of optimal performance in your personal and professional life. The advantages of experiences outside of your comfort zone can be incredibly impactful and long-lasting. Wellness retreats and special social events are opportunities to have individual and group processing sessions where participants can explore their goals, and the sources of feeling stuck, lost, and possibly aimless. It’s a space where one can learn more about creating boundaries and explore trauma and the impacts it can have on their life. I provide consultations to motivate others toward change. Hire a group facilitator for your next event and create a huge impression on your participants.
conferences and classrooms
Would you like a guest speaker for a class or conference? I’ve taught social work skills in supervisory settings for several years and love an opportunity to continue enriching the minds of future clinicians. I’ve spoken at many in-person and virtual events on the bachelor, graduate, and post-graduate levels. Topics often discussed in these settings include:
An introduction to Cognitive Processing Therapy
Shared Trauma
Social Work in Private Practice
Podcasts, panels, and radio interviews
Mental health is constantly a part of the cultural conversation. Are you in need of a therapeutic lens on a topic? There are always psychological implications for events in our daily lives that can always be examined. Topics often discussed with colleagues include:
Social justice
Race relations
